Tri #2 - This group of paintings represents a melding of two distinct projects from the upper school Contemporary Painting class. The students were inspired by the work of contemporary painters Dale Chihuly and William Wegman. Both artists are very well known for works other than their paintings. Wegman has photographed his pet Weimaraners for more than twenty years, while Chihuly creates amazing glass sculptures. We believe our title to be quite appropriate. Whether one is working realistically or in an abstract fashion, it is still a difficult task to create a fine work of art. Many of the same basic art fundamentals are utilized in both genres. We hope you enjoy this eclectic show. |
