Academics at The Miami Valley School
The academic program at MVS encourages every student to discover artistic and creative talents, while developing critical thinking skills, organizational techniques, and sound habits of inquiry. Nearly 500 students from the Julia D. Hobart Early Childhood Program through Grade 12 respond to the challenging curriculum and the individual attention that a student-teacher ratio of 9:1 provides.
We provide highly individualized college counseling to guide students through the appropriate decision-making processes for college and university application. That guidance helps one hundred percent of our graduates attend college. And because of our students' consistent success in National Merit testing, more than half of MVS graduates are accepted by the top five percent of the nation's institutions of higher learning. |
The
MVS faculty is a blend of seasoned teachers, skilled in their content
areas and adept in guiding young minds, and younger faculty members who,
supported by mentors and division heads, bring fresh ideas to the learning
process. Teachers are deeply devoted to professional development and encourage
their students to make individual intellectual choices, stepping into
the world from an educational platform supported by close teacher-pupil
relationships.
