The Miami Valley School Libraries have a simple but essential mission: to facilitate the school community's free and open access to information, resources, and ideas that support and enrich an MVS education.

The Lange Library serves our middle and upper schools. Designed to be much more than just a room to house books, this open, flexible space provides a comfortable environment for academic exploration for individuals, groups, or classes. Our group study room allows students to work collaboratively without disturbing those in the rest of the library. At any given time, stop by the library and find students engaged in a variety of activities: discussing a history lecture; playing chess during a free period; nestled into comfy couches working on laptops or reading a new novel; working studiously on calculus homework in a quiet study carrel. School netbooks are available for checkout and use within the library, allowing students to research using various online databases.

Our lower school library is designed to inspire intellectual curiosity and a love of reading for students in grades K-5. This comfortable space allows students to discover a new favorite book from our collection of reading-level appropriate non-fiction, chapter, and picture books, while a collection of iPads offers interactive learning games, research tools, and ebooks for use in the library and classrooms. Grades K-3 visit the library as part of their regular schedule for stories, activities, and library skills development, while library instruction for grades 4 and 5 is integrated into the classroom curriculum.

Items in the library collections are searchable through our online catalog, enabling students to become self-sufficient library users.
