Scholarships

The Miami Valley School is dedicated to making the educational experience available to all families. While most financial aid comes in the form of need-based grants, The Miami Valley School offers Merit and Legacy Scholarships to further assist families in providing their children an MVS education.

Merit Scholarships

The Miami Valley School offers Merit Scholarships for two purposes: to further assist families in providing their children with an outstanding school experience, and to recognize students who have excelled in their academic and personal lives.

All prospective students entering grades 6 through 12 are eligible and required to complete the full application process. Merit Scholarships will be given to students who have high academic achievement in both their overall academia, and the SSAT admission test. The deadline for completion of the application for admission to be considered for Merit Scholarships is February 16, 2011.

The recipient is awarded a scholarship toward tuition that will remain renewable as long as the recipient remains in good academic and social standing while attending MVS.

Legacy Scholarships

The Miami Valley School offers a Legacy Scholarship to children of MVS alumni interested in applying to the lower school for the 2010-2011 school year. Candidates are evaluated on academic strength, character and commitment to excellence.

Students must be new applicants entering kindergarten through grade 12 whose parent or grandparent is an alumnus/a of The Miami Valley School and received a diploma from the school.

Military Scholarships

The Miami Valley School supports the commitment and sacrifices made by families of the United States Armed Forces. Each year, The Miami Valley School reserves a portion of its merit and need-based financial for military families whose transfer orders may have delayed their arrival to the Dayton area. These funds are available for current and retired military personnel. The student application for admission will be considered for the available merit scholarship funds.

For need-based financial assistance, the family must complete the Parent Financial Statement (PFS) maintained through the School and Student Services (SSS) program of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). A financial aid package will be created upon receipt of the appropriate documentation. For more information or to speak directly to a Military Admission and Financial Aid Counselor, please contact the Office of Admission at 937-434-4444, extension 125.

Outside Scholarships

Outside scholarships are scholarships awarded from non-governmental sources outside The Miami Valley School. Many families supplement their financial aid awards with funds from outside scholarships. These programs maintain their own restrictions and deadlines. Currently, enrolled students receive or have been eligible for outside scholarship aid from the following sources:
