The MVS Mother's Association organized the Spring Fair, now known as Spring Fling, in the early years of the school. One keystone of the Fair was the book sale in the lower school gym. For this sale, mothers would carry books from McLeans bookstore in the Town and Country Shopping Center to the fair and would walk unsold books all the way back at the end of the event. Though the book sale is no longer held during Spring Fling, the lower school gym is now used for the very popular Cake Walk. Click Here to see photos from the 2007 Spring Fling

New Alumni Theatre Dedicated to MVS Performing Arts
Plans are underway to convert the existing lower school gymnasium into a dedicated space for MVS Performing Arts. The multi-purpose space, which will be dedicated as The Alumni Theatre, will be designed to be extremely flexible and enhance programmatic opportunities at the school. The project was researched by a faculty led team who examined various studio theatres around the region and recommended space configurations. The theatre is now in its initial fundraising phase and is expected to premiere during Homecoming.

Volunteer Breakfast Recognizes All Who Donate Their Time To MVS
The first annual volunteer breakfast was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate MVS volunteers. We recognized several of our leadership volunteers specifically including: the auction chairs (Susie Yanes, Cathy Lane, Suzi Mikutis), the annual fund chair (Kim Zorniger), and the Parent Association President (Marti Cole). A highlight of the event was the announcement of our first Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award, presented to parent and Trustee Kelly Caughey.
Additionally, this new format provided a great chance to recognize and thank ALL VOLUNTEERS who contribute their time and talents in various roles to help MVS. Click Here to read more.
Parents of Alumni Enjoy First Event
As part of a new effort to reconnect with parents of MVS alumni, the Advencement Office coordinated a day trip to Ghyslain Chocolatier. The day was filled with lively conversation, reminiscing about MVS memories, and, of course, chocolate. Participants included parents of alumni who were at MVS from 1965 through this year's senior class. The tour featured a display of the tips and tricks used when Ghyslain creates some of its beautiful chocolate creations. Keep an eye and ear out for information about further Parents of Alumni events coming next year. Click Here to see photos from the event.
