Alumni Giving As a former student at MVS, I am incredibly proud and excited to be able to write to you about some of the wonderful things happening at our school. T he Outdoor Exploration Center. A completely renovated, state of the art library. Sustainability initiatives for a “green” campus. Expanding opportunities in the arts, curriculum, and athletics. New scholarship opportunities. Immersion. These are just a few things to think about when considering support levels for the Annual Fund. Alums came through in a big way for MVS in 2009/2010. Last year saw unprecedented support for the Annual Fund as alumni giving reached 14%, up from 2% the previous year. We cannot thank you enough for your generous support. The current economy poses significant challenges for private schools and support from our close knit community has never been more important. If you have not given in recent years, please consider this year to begin giving to the Annual Fund. If you have given in the past, please consider increasing your annual gift or at the very least matching your previous gifts. We all know how incredibly special the MVS experience is and what a profound impact it has on young lives. For many of us, immersion was a defining experience, one that we still carry with us and helped shape who we are. As a giving option for the Annual Fund, you can make a restricted gift to the immersion program to help provide much needed financial aid for students to go on immersion trips. And this is just one example of restricted gifts that can be made to the school. You may wish to give funds to purchase resources for the new library, or to support the Outdoor Exploration Center, or the Theatre Arts program. The sky is truly the limit for how you can support the school. If you wish to discuss this or other restricted gift options, please contact the staff in the Development Office who would be happy to discuss it with you. Whether your gift is large or small, my message to you is simply to give something. By increasing our participation levels we will positively impact the annual campaign. We are all extremely fortunate to have lived the MVS experience and to have the opportunity to help nurture the sustained growth of MVS so that it continues to flourish. Thank you again for your generosity and continued support. As always, the extended family of MVS is what makes it a truly special place. Sincerely, Chris Wydman ‘87 |
