Volunteerism is Part of the Culture of MVS

The Miami Valley School celebrates extensive volunteer involvement of its parents in the school community through the MVS Parents’ Association. Their time, talent, energy and enthusiasm bring vibrancy to every event, whether for a class outing, setting up for Spring Fling or fundraising on behalf of the school. Parents help the school in so many ways – we encourage you to be active in the Parents’ Association and find your own way to become involved, be it large or small.

Fund Raising Supports Faculty and Instruction

Fundraising events focus on providing a service to the parents and building community within the school, while at the same time generating funds. Proceeds are used to support programs that enhance the educational experience for all our children and specific purchases through the MVS Faculty Mini-Grant Program. Our fundraisers have been incredibly successful in creating monies that are used within our entire MVS community. We hope that all MVS families participate in fundraisers wherever they can. Fund Raising Gives Back to the Dayton Community

During the spring of 2011 the PA sponsored the sale of Classic Recipes Cookie Dough and an important element of the sale was two donations made to Dayton organizations. MVS donated 44 tubs/boxes of cookie dough to St. Vincent’s de Paul and 47 stuffed animals to the Child Life Department at Dayton Children’s. These two donations showed the MVS and Dayton communities that we are compassionate as indicated by the mission of MVS.

During the upcoming school year we will have three fundraisers sponsored by the PA and each one will have a donation element as part of the program. Our fundraisers for 2011-2012 are:

• 2012 Entertainment Book: August 29 – September 12
• Sally Foster: October 14 – October 28
• Classic Recipes Cookie Dough: April 9 – April 23
