This year, MVS will help get incoming Kindergarten students (from any school) ready for the "shift" from 1/2 day pre-school to the routines of an all day stay at school. We'll make it fun, educational, friendly, and comforting so your student will be prepared for the upcoming school year.
Taught by 13-year MVS teacher Jennifer George, be sure and take advantage of this great opportunity to get your child ready!

Girls' Softball
Join us for a five-day intensive softball camp featuring all aspects of the game. Learn proper techniques for hitting, as well as the basics of the "short game" which includes bunts, placement, slap hits and drag bunting. Aspirating pitcher or catcher? Let us teach you the mental and physical aspects of the two most important positions on the field. Learn how to turn one fastball into five pitches and why you don't throw two changes up in a row. Join us for the fundamentals of defense from the infield and outfield perspectives; where to throw, how to hit the cut-offs and why holding the ball is sometimes the better choice than making a throw. Finally, let's have some fun in the dirt. It's time to slide. We'll work on the basics of sliding as well as the hook slide for the tough out. The MVS softball camp is taught by seven-year Varsity Coach Brenna Bretscher. Register early for camp space is limited.

Boys and Girls Tennis Camp
This five day intensive tennis camp features both doubles strategies and match play. Doubles is the most overlooked part of high school tennis. Learn when to move, where to move, and most importantly, why to move. Learn how to work with any partner and how to communicate effectively during a match. Discover how important serve and returns are, and why a lob is as much an offensive shot as it is a defensive shot. Find out how to "cut the box" on a return and how "mirroring" your shot will put you and your partner in correct position. Explore the game "cat and mouse" with lob play and just why placement is so often better than power... if you want to WIN that is. Come join the MVS tennis camp taught by 39-year-veteran coach Vin Romeo and 15-year assistant coach Brenna Bretscher. Register early, first come, first "serve."
