Summer Enrichment Program
The Summer Enrichment Program is a program for Dayton charter school students. Kettering Fund support funded the program for the initial three years of the program. Due to lack of funding, the program will not be scheduled during the summer of 2008. Summer Enrichment is a four-week partnering program that will offer support of academic skills such as English, math, and science, as well as arts activities and opportunities for physical education and athletics. Students' transportation, food, and field trip expenses for the program are covered by the funding source. The school will support the program with gifts-in-kind, providing facilities and other resources. Ongoing tutoring will support skill development and help students prepare for their high school experiences in local public and private schools. The Summer Enrichment Program provides a way for MVS to reinforce the commitment of its founding trustees to foster diversity by serving "all the children of Dayton" while fostering leadership, diversity training, and character-building opportunities for participants. |
