FAQs

What is Annual Giving?

It’s the “gift every year” that we count on every member of our extended family to contribute to support The Miami Valley School’s day-to-day operations. It is vital because tuition does not cover the full cost of a MVS education —- it costs The Miami Valley School more than $1,000 over tuition to educate each child, each year.

What does Annual Giving support?

Annual Giving dollars support the school’s operation budget every year, so our students are the direct beneficiaries. Our dedicated and nurturing faculty, superb academic programs, libraries, classroom technology, athletics, fine and performing arts, and scholarship program are all supported by our gift to Annual Giving. In short, everywhere you look you will see the benefits!

Are gifts tax deductible?

Yes. Gifts are fully tax deductible as allowed by law since The Miami Valley School is a registered non-profit organization.

Why is participation so important?

Every dollar counts. A high participation indicates strong parental commitment, an important consideration when the school seeks funding from foundation and corporations. We therefore ask families who are struggling financially to make a participatory gift and count on those who are able to give generously to do so.

Do matching gifts count for recognition purposes?

Yes. The employer’s matching gift will be combined with the parent’s gift to determine the giving level at which the parents will receive recognition.

How can I pay for my gift?

Donors can charge their gift to a credit card, pay by check or we accept gifts of securities, mutual funds, etc. Annual giving gifts may be paid in installments. Contact the Development Office at (937) 434-1848 for more details.
