The Miami Valley School 8th grade stock market team has won the state of Ohio competition, over-earning 692 other teams, and moving on to the national competition in New York City where they will meet investors from Goldman Sachs.
The team composed of Niam Morar, Jordan Bradstreet, and Neil Sawh showed the highest profits in the history of teams at The Miami Valley School and were the unanimous #1 pick of the judges, representing four financial firms, at the University of Cincinnati. The team turned $56,000 profit on their $100,000 investment. The middle schoolers’ strategy was to examine and purchase three low cost stocks, each under $5.00, and buy 6,000+ shares of each.
The 14-year-olds will visit the floor of the NYSE on their all-expense paid trip to New York City.
