Immersive learning to expand education
Students at The Miami Valley School are given the unique opportunity to be hands-on with their education through experience-based learning. This immersive aspect of our curriculum challenges the students to become self-sustaining learners and compassionate global citizens.
Why is it important?
The Miami Valley School Immersion Method is based on the knowledge that learning is rooted in direct experience, which leads to engagement and the discovery of passion by each individual student. Learning is more than just what occurs in the classroom through books and lessons. Education is something that happens everywhere, and The Miami Valley School ensures that our students learn that lesson.
Noun – deep mental involvement; state of being deeply engaged.
Where does immersion take place?
What do we do in immersion?
The upper and middle school dedicate the entire month of January to Immersion and the program takes students across the city, state, country and world. The lower school adopts this program and devotes one week per semester to intensive exploration.
