Eight upper school students attended the Model UN conference Saturday March 26th at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. Four of the students returned to campus with awards.

The students will compete again Saturday, April 16th to Sunday, April 17th at The Ohio State University.

Iman Quadri, ’17, is eager to compete at The Ohio State University Campus. A Junior, Quadri won Outstanding Delegate at the March 26th competition but sees inherent value in the experience no matter her personal success. “Participating in conferences gives students an opportunity to engage socially with other schools while also gaining the academic benefits of the challenge,” Quadri explains.

, ’17, agrees that Model UN pushes him academically and personally, stating: “It has been a great way to push me out of my comfort zone and work on speaking in front of others.”

Cheered on by their faculty coach, Ms. Lindsey Cummings, the team promises to continue their success in the debate and from a holistic growth perspective.
