At The Miami Valley School, we are independent in both our teaching and learning, as well as in our thinking and doing. For almost 60 years, our students have enjoyed the freedom to explore their world in a community that encourages them to discover how to express themselves. Although we support challenging academics built on a foundation of integrity and grit, teachers here do more than prepare students to score well on a standardized test someday. They empower students to do their best academically and to be their best selves personally – to discover their true passion and purpose, and to responsibly pursue it with compassion and intellectual excellence.
Prospective families with children in rising grades 6-12 are invited to schedule a “shadow day” for their student to visit classes on Friday, May 3. There will also be group tours of MVS at 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Come experience a day at Dayton’s #1-ranked high school! RSVP below for the shadow day and/or group tour experience.

The makeup of our student body reflects the diversity of the Dayton area, with students hailing from 51 local ZIP codes as well as 7 foreign countries. 49% of MVS students identify as students of color, and 49% receive need or merit-based financial aid. With a multitude of sports offerings, dozens of school clubs, and the ability to create your own student organization, your child will find a place at MVS.
