Students will get a chance to make and taste a variety of foods from around the world. Jenny Giltner and Sarah Mangroo
3-5 Move Your Body, Calm Your Mind, Take Care of Yourself! Learn how to take care of your mind and your body in different ways and learn more about the connection between a healthy mind and a healthy body. Try different ways to take care of and move your body, while also learning to relax and calm your mind! Activities will include: yoga, hiking, healthy snacks, journaling, art, and much more! Get ready to have a lot of fun while challenging yourself to get a bit outside of your comfort zone! Kara Peterson, MVS Counselor
3-5 River, Rock, and Trail Spend the week exploring the (mostly)outdoors engaged in all things active! We will spend the week fossil hunting, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and rock climbing as we support each other in these physical activities. Melissa Ertsgaard, MVS Lower School Teacher, and Sarah Workman
3-5 Forensic Frenzy During this week of summer camp, students will engage in interactive experiments that will take them into the field of forensic science. Daily exercises in a wide array of forensic disciplines will give students the skills to analyze evidence, culminating on the final day, on which they will solve their very own crime scene. Robyn McIntyre, MVS Lower School Teacher
6-9 Riddles, Logic, and Mathematical Reasoning In this camp, we will engage with many different kinds of riddles, conundrums and challenging problems. We will practice finding solutions that use common sense coupled with logic. We will see how math can show up in new places, in new disguises and offer new insights. We will also discover what assumptions we make without thinking about them. Since we will be in person this year, we will spend time indoors and outdoors – wherever the mysteries lead! If a student participated in this camp last year, they are welcome to join as we will have new kinds of riddles and hands-on experiences. Nathan Beckman, MVS Math Teacher
